Anime Like 84 Taekwon V
By the seventh film, you don't sit down for character arcs, you sit down because a Korean robot still solves alien invasion with taekwondo, and nothing else on the mecha shelf does that. This is the franchise where the hero machine throws hand strikes and kicks instead of leaning on beam cannons, and 84 Taekwon V is that idea after nearly a decade of sequels have sanded off any hesitation about it. The universe already stretched wide enough to launch Fly, Space Battleship Geobukseon and its lone ship carrying Earth's hopes, so the scale here is inherited, not earned from scratch. Characters exist to move the plot to the next fight, and the film knows it. Watch it for what Korean animation built with its own hands while everyone was looking at Japan.
