Anime Like Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga
This is the season that makes you forgive the first one, and it does it by pretending episodes 17 onward never happened and going straight back to the Kyoto arc the manga always deserved. It hits because it finally puts Rin in the room where nobody wants him: shunned on the train, eating alone, his classmates flinching when his flames flicker, Konekomaru terrified enough that Todo can whisper poison right into him. Bon gets the real payoff, the son who trained his whole life to be strong for a father he calls a fraud, until Tatsuma summons Karura and the whole "drunk failure" act burns off in front of him. Meanwhile Shura is dragging Rin through sword and breathing drills that feel less like power-ups and more like therapy, and Yukio is quietly injecting himself, hiding a leg wound and eyes that keep going blue. Izumo with Uke and Mike, Mamushi's split loyalty, the Impure King blooming out of the mountainside in fungal sheets. Predictable in its bones, sure. But Bon and Rin yelling at each other on that rooftop is the moment the show became worth defending.
SYNOPSIS
