Chiba Prefecture has a reputation for being boring. Nothing ever happens here. Then Shikawa Ako, an unremarkable high school girl living an unremarkable life, somehow becomes the unwitting anchor point for the most ridiculous supernatural events imaginable. Yokai start showing up to class. Local landmarks gain sentience. Ancient curses decide Chiba is the perfect place to cause chaos. Somehow, nobody except Ako seems to notice or care that normalcy is completely falling apart around them. The prefecture remains convinced it's the most average place in Japan, even as the absurd becomes routine. Ako didn't ask for any of this. She just wants to get through her days without incident. Instead she's stuck mediating between confused spirits, dealing with monsters who have surprisingly mundane problems, and watching her hometown transform into a comedic battleground where the supernatural treats everyday life like a joke. The clash between Chiba's determination to stay ordinary and the chaos determined to make it legendary is where the real humor lives.
