Dogtanian gets to be genuinely annoying before he earns anything, turning up in Paris too young for the Guards and picking a duel with Athos, Porthos and Aramis just to prove he can hold a blade. Pip squeaking beside him and the whole Juliette business give the swashbuckling something soft to land on. Be honest with yourself though: without a childhood attached, this plays gentler than you remember. With one, the first "one for all" hits like a door opening.
SYNOPSIS
