Anime Like Dragon Fist
This one hands you forty minutes and expects you to keep up. Ling Fei-long, son of the White Dragon clan chief, gets shipped off to a Japanese high school as punishment for killing an ordinary human, and the OVA spends most of its runtime explaining the four beast-descended clans in the Chinese mountains rather than showing you them. The synopsis promises a war story. What you actually get is a quiet, talky exile drama with a soundtrack better than the animation it's carrying, plus a couple of twists in the back half that land harder than they have any right to. Pacing is a mess because there is simply too much lore for the minutes available. Watch it anyway if your list is the kind nobody else has finished, and clock exactly where the budget ran out.
SYNOPSIS
