Anime Like Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki
This one gets you with a misunderstanding you can see coming and still enjoy watching detonate. Atsushi transfers into Jougaouka carrying a torch for Ma-chan, walks into the nurse's office, and finds a man who looks like his childhood crush and behaves like his opposite, because it isn't him at all, it's Masayoshi. That single mistaken identity does all the work here, and the OVA is smart enough to let Atsushi keep flailing instead of explaining itself. Meanwhile Kouji is a running disaster of affection, lunging for a kiss at the worst possible moment, and the show treats his persistence as comedy rather than menace. Two episodes, no spectacle, just 1994 cel work, soft colors, and rooms where people talk themselves into corners. It's the kind of early BL comedy that lives on timing and blushing, and it knows exactly how ridiculous everyone is being.
SYNOPSIS
Atsushi transfers to Jougaouka High School chasing a ghost: his childhood sweetheart Masami, who he's convinced still works there as the school nurse. When he finally tracks down the nurse's office, he's floored. The person greeting him is nothing like the Masami he remembers. This version is crude, forward, and completely unafraid to mess with him. Atsushi's world tilts sideways, confused whether he's thrilled or horrified by this bizarre transformation. Things get messier when his best friend Kouji won't stop throwing himself at him, turning every school day into an awkward wrestling match. Between dodging advances and processing his feelings for this new version of Ma-chan, Atsushi starts wondering if maybe he's been chasing the wrong person all along. The feelings building in his chest feel real, electric even. Then reality crashes down. This nurse isn't Masami at all. He's Masayoshi, Masami's brother. Everything Atsushi thought he understood gets upended, and he's forced to figure out what he actually wants when the past and present collide.
