Anime Like Sequence
This one works on you like a half-remembered dream you can't shake. Toshiaki lost everything before age six, and the OVA lets that hole sit there aching instead of rushing to fill it, right up until a girl who claims to come from his own future walks in and reframes the whole thing. It's shoujo romance wearing time travel and reincarnation like a borrowed coat, and the 1992 craft carries it: mood-drenched art, sound design that does more emotional work than the dialogue does. Be warned, the sci-fi hook lands late and the mystery box opens softer than you'd want, which is exactly why half the people who start it bail. The other half keep thinking about it for years. If longing for someone you can't quite remember sounds like your genre, forty-odd minutes is a cheap price.
SYNOPSIS
Toshiaki has lived with a shattered mind since childhood, unable to form lasting memories after a traumatic accident.
