Anime Like Soul Hunter
It hands you a chosen hero who would rather nap than fight, and then makes his laziness the whole point. Taikoubou gets handed the Houshin Project by the Immortal Masters and treats it like a scheduling problem, floating in on Supuushan, talking his way through opponents, letting his paope do the heavy lifting while everyone else screams about destiny. Dakki is the reason it sticks: a fox sorceress who has hollowed out the emperor and rules through him, smiling the entire time, genuinely enjoying herself in a way most 90s villains never dared. The supporting bench carries it too, Nataku's blank battle-doll menace and Youzen's shapeshifting smugness cutting against Taikoubou's shrug. It is late-90s TV anime through and through, gaudy and uneven and paced like it is late for something, and that ancient-China-by-way-of-techno look is exactly why people still hunt it down. Stay for the sennin who wins by cheating.
SYNOPSIS
