Anime Like The Witch and the Beast
It puts you in a city where the magic looks expensive and the people using it look damned. Guideau is the rare cursed protagonist who is genuinely unpleasant to be around, all beast eyes and bad temper and zero interest in being likable, and Ashaf hauling that coffin behind her with his pipe and his hair magic is the calmest man in any room he ruins. The chemistry is pure odd couple, one of them wants to punch the answer out of the problem, the other already solved it three moves ago and didn't mention it. The 17 Origins premise gives the Order of Magical Resonance real institutional weight, so the witch hunts land like case files instead of monster-of-the-week filler. Give it past the opening episodes, the setup is front-loaded and the payoff is not. Slept on hard by people who claim they wanted another Dorohedoro.
SYNOPSIS
