Anime Like BASQUASH!
It drops you into a slam dunk from a five-story robot and dares you to stay skeptical. BASQUASH! takes street basketball, straps it into 3DCG Bigfoot mecha, and lets Dan JD wreck half of Rollingtown before anyone bothers explaining the rules, because the point is the rules are boring and the crash is beautiful. Satelight's early episodes are genuinely gorgeous, all neon dust and moon-glare, with Mooneyes hanging in the sky as a permanent reminder that somebody up there has it better. The soundtrack and openings go embarrassingly hard for a show about robot hoops. Be warned: the art quality starts sliding around episode 10 and never fully recovers, which is exactly why this thing splits rooms into people who dropped it and people who still hum the OP. If you watch for Coco and stay for the spectacle, you already know which side you're on.
SYNOPSIS

Dan JD, a street kid with nothing to lose, discovers an outlet in Bigfoot Basketball, a brutal sport that fuses mecha piloting with athletic competition. Players commandeer towering robots to dunk massive balls through hoops, turning mechanical warfare into a game where speed, strategy, and guts matter more than corporate backing. What begins as a way to escape his circumstances evolves into something bigger. Dan's natural talent and refusal to play by anyone's rules attract attention from unexpected quarters, forcing him to confront what it means to chase a dream in a world rigged against people like him. Between intense courtside clashes and the politics lurking behind the sport's glamorous surface, Dan pushes toward a goal that might just bridge the gap between Earthdash and the unreachable moon above.
